On January 23, at the 2014 Eurasian Event Forum, senior executives of the World Trade Center Moscow and its Seoul counterpart, COEX, conducted a round of talks. The meeting was attended by Mr. Bo Kyung Byun, President and CEO of COEX, Mr. Vladimir Strashko, Deputy Chairman of the Board of WTC Moscow, Mr. Vladimir Salamatov, General Director of the WTC Moscow, Ms. Vera Ionova, Director of the Congress Center, Mr. Roman Gubenko, Director of the WTC Moscow’s International Trade Promotion Department, Ms. Kim Suzan, COEX’ Deputy CEO, Business Development.

Mr. Salamatov said the WTC is one of the most popular locations for large events, and an official site for conferences and investment forums in Russia, for large public events, including the International Economic Forum of CIS Countries, Sberbank and VTB forums, annual conferences of international law-enforcement associations. “The status of events imposes its commitments, and we invariably offer our guests the best service and security guarantees, so probably for that reason senior officials of government institutions and businesses opt for the WTC as location of their landmark events,” remarked Mr. Salamatov. “The year 2014 will be have special significance for Russia as the year of its presidency in the G8, and that fact is especially important for us, because the WTC Moscow was awarded the status of the general contractor of a large number of G8 events to be run this year.”

Speaking about the various activities of the WTC Moscow, Mr. Salamatov emphasized the fact that they cover not only hospitality, congress and trade show services, renting office space, but also consulting, with the center accumulating all analytical information that business might require. “Russia in the WTO,” a special project run by the WTC Moscow, aggregates that information and organizes trainings and workshops for corporate clients and public authorities

In their turn, representatives of the COEX spoke about their center’s activities, and supported the idea of a partnership between the Moscow and Seoul WTCs. In conclusion, Mr. Bo Kyung Byun invited representatives of the WTC Moscow to visit Seoul and take part in events organized by the COEX.
