54th anniversary of the founding of our Chamber of Commerce

With a ceremony presided over by Antonio Carricarte, First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment and our president, Orlando Hernández Guillén, on February 1 we celebrate the 54th anniversary of the creation of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba ( CCRC) through the promulgation of Law no. 1091 of the same date of the year 1963.
Speaking at the event, where we also re-inaugurated our Business Center and paid tribute to the late José Miguel Díaz Mirabal, who was founder, vice president and president for eight years, the current vice president Odalys Seijo, mentioned the presence of Amadeo Blanco Valdés-Fauly (president at the time of the foundation) and Ada Acosta, who were part of the group of founders who promoted the constitution of the Chamber.
She said that this is an important date for those who today support this inherited responsibility, not only to maintain and consolidate the previous achievements with dedication and commitment, but to face the challenge of constant updating. We aspire, she added, that this sense of belonging that grips us all today has a continuity in which in the future will pick up the torch to continue lighting the way with the commitment that has always characterized us.
She also pointed out that a better date could not be selected for the re-inauguration of the Business Center and that was unanimous the feeling that the name for the same was José Miguel Díaz Mirabal, Pepe, who was not only founder and tireless worker for 22 years in different fronts of the Chamber, but remained linked to this activity until his death.
Later, Ada Acosta, one of the founders of the Chamber, who whit only 26 years old joined this project since 1963 and has been a reference in the activity of trademarks and patents in Cuba, related several anecdotes that show the personal and professional qualities of Mirabal.
Finally the first president of the Chamber, Amadeo Blanco, and a representative of the new generation of the Chamber, Laura Diaz, daughter of the deceased comrade, unveiled the plaque that left inaugurated the Business Center of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba José Miguel Díaz Mirabal.
