Savannah, GA, USA - World Trade Center Savannah (WTCSav) hosted the Japan-America Society of Georgia (JASG) during their inaugural visit to Savannah, June 14-15. The delegation included a dynamic group of business professionals representing a variety of Japanese industries including research, technology and agriculture. Based in Atlanta, GA, the group traveled to Savannah to explore business opportunities and learn how gas/steam turbines and private jet aircrafts are made.

The group of 20 met in the WTCSav offices for a presentation from the Savannah Economic Development Authority and WTCSav to learn more about the organizations’ missions and operations and the economy of the Coastal Georgia region.

The group traveled to Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, where the world's most technologically advanced business-jet aircrafts are engineered, manufactured and serviced. Gulfstream designs, builds and services a line of luxury business jets - all of which are built at its Savannah headquarters. WTCSav hosted the delegation at a reception that included a host of regional businesses and organizations including logistics, manufacturing and education.

The delegation concluded their visit with a tour and presentation at the Georgia Ports Authority, the largest single container terminal in North America and fastest growing port in the United States.

There is already a strong relationship between Japan and Georgia, with more than 400 Japanese facilities operating in Georgia, employing more than 26,000 Georgians. The JASG is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote mutual understanding between the people of Japan and the state of Georgia through establishing and promoting ties and programs in the areas of business, culture, customs, education, commerce, politics and social networking.
