WTCA Attends CCPIT Summit 2024

On May 13, Mr. Ed Allison-Wright, Chairman of the WTCA Executive Committee and Director of WTC Gibraltar, attended the Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit 2024 hosted by the China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Beijing, China on behalf of WTCA Chairman John E. Drew and the WTCA Board of Directors. Mr. Allison-Wright was joined by Mr. Scott Wang, WTCA Vice President, Asia Pacific.

With the theme “Mutual Trust and Cooperation: Navigating through Profound Changes,” the summit gathered business leaders from major international institutions, trade promotion agencies, business associations and companies, as well as renowned entrepreneurs and experts to engage in-depth discussions on topics including: Building Open and Win-Win Supply Chain, Chinese Modernization: Sharing Opportunities for a Better World, Joining Forces to Realize the “San Francisco Vision,” and Driving Economic and Social Development through

Artificial Intelligence (AI). Chinese Vice President Han Zheng also presented during the opening ceremony and provided the keynote speech.

Speaking on the panel “Chinese Modernization: Sharing Opportunities for a Better World,” Mr. Allison-Wright cited the WTCA’s long-time partnership with CCPIT as a great example for open cooperation at all levels, including nine WTC operations in China owned or managed by CCPIT local branches. The partnership has delivered tremendous benefits to the Chinese and global business communities over the past 40 years. Mr. Allison-Wright also proposed further cooperation on multilateral trade promotion, assistances to SMEs, ESG-focused development, as well as tech-driven trade innovations.

Together, the WTCA and CCPIT have worked diligently and cooperatively to promote the World Trade Center (WTC) concept in cities throughout China and enhance opportunities for international trade. We look forward to strengthening our partnership and contributing to the open cooperation and development of China and the rest of the world,” said John E. Drew, Chairman, WTCA Board of Directors.
