WTC Utah Appoints J.P. Morgan Director to Board

Jan 22, 2024

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, January 4, 2024 — World Trade Center Utah (WTC Utah) is pleased to announce the addition of Danielle (Danni) Wright, managing director and head of Utah and Idaho for J.P. Morgan Private Bank, to its Board of Directors as the new treasurer. Wright will oversee the development of high-level financial policies for the organization and succeed Rich Lambert of Wells Fargo, who served as treasurer for seven years.

WTC Utah’s Board of Directors is chaired by Jon Huntsman, former governor of Utah and U.S. ambassador to Singapore, China, and Russia. Founded under his governorship in 2006, WTC Utah has developed a robust network that spans the world and provides a wide range of international programs and services to help accelerate growth for Utah companies and elevate the state’s global status to promote prosperity and build economic resilience.

WTC Utah and JPMorgan Chase have had a decade-long relationship that focuses on supporting Utah companies, and spans the bank’s various business lines, beginning with the Global Cities Initiative in partnership with Salt Lake County. This initiative helped leaders in U.S. metropolitan areas reorient their economies towards greater engagement in world markets. Additionally, JPMorgan Chase has contributed to WTC Utah’s Export Acceleration Grant (EAG), which enabled 36 small companies to receive funding, and J.P. Morgan Private Bank supported WTC Utah’s international trade missions.

During the governor-led trade mission to France in June 2023 — which was organized in part by WTC Utah — Wright hosted the Utah delegation at their Paris office. With the largest presence of any U.S. bank in France, J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s Paris team provided the delegation with a market briefing on France’s economy, developments post-Brexit, its trading relationship with the United States, and opportunities to connect with France’s thriving startups and investment funds. The Bank also connected the delegation with top leaders in France's startup, incubator, innovation, and investment community, as well as with France-based corporations looking to expand in the U.S.

Wright brings with her 15 years in J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Denver, Dallas, and New York. She most recently served on the U.S. Private Bank Operating Committee as head of business management and a partner to the U.S. Private Bank’s CEO. Wright also spent half a decade on the Global Investment & Advice Management Team where she provided investment advice and innovative strategies to clients in both Europe and Asia.

“JPMorgan Chase and WTC Utah have been longstanding partners for nearly a decade, since our collaboration on the Global Cities Initiative with Salt Lake County. It’s been a pleasure working with WTC Utah over the years on a shared commitment to building a stronger community, leveraging international collaboration, and promoting global trade,” said Wright. “Joining the Board of Directors and serving as Treasurer is a true honor, and I look forward to supporting WTC Utah’s success and commitment to fostering economic growth.”

Whether it’s leading conversations with diplomats from around the world, connecting Utah businesses with international opportunities, or developing solutions for the global supply chain crisis, WTC Utah and its members and partners are at the forefront of key international issues. JPMorgan Chase is an integral member of WTC Utah’s Global Advisory Board.

“The WTC Utah board as well as the full organization will benefit from Wright’s financial leadership,” shared Michelle Conley, senior director of partner relations for WTC Utah. “Her experience in the Mountain West as well as abroad will serve Utah’s international business community.”

With a vision to make Utah the crossroads of the world, one business at a time, WTC Utah leverages the leadership and experience of its board of directors to bolster international opportunities for companies throughout the state.
