WTC Paris Ile-de-France Launches Business Club

Feb 15, 2024

WTC Paris Ile-de-France recently launched their Business Club during a celebratory evening reception at the Paris Ile-de-France CCI in their beautiful HĂ´tel Potocki.

On Tuesday evening, February 13, the WTC Paris Ile-de-France team gathered entrepreneurs, SMEs, Embassies, and institution representatives for an evening reception in their historical building on Avenue de Friedland. After months of brainstorming and strategy meetings, they announced the creation of their new Business Club, adding another pillar into the construction of their WTC portfolio of services. In 2022, the relaunch of WTC Paris Ile-de-France had started with the implementation of Trade Services through their very experienced team focused on Doing Business in Paris. Over the past two years, they have actively connected with our global WTCA network of 300+ WTC businesses around the world and generated many business opportunities for foreign companies in the Paris region.

Marie-Christine Oghly, Master of Ceremony and Vice President of International Affairs at the Paris Ile-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), explained “this club is yours,” to which Dominique Restino, President of the Paris Ile-de-France CCI added “it will become the international business nerve center of the Paris region.”

Mariette Mulaire, Managing Director of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) Board of Directors; Pierre Mongrué, Deputy Director of International Affairs at the Paris Ile-de-France, and Freerk Faber, CEO of WTC Twente and WTCA Board Director, introduced the WTC concept and global WTCA network to guests along with the importance of such tools in their international development. Lastly, Cosimo Prete, CEO of Crime Science Technology and Member of the WTC Lille Business Club, offered a testimonial about his experience with the WTCA network.

Demonstrating the vitality of our international network, several WTCA Members joined the event to support the newest European WTC business club, and networked with the guests, telling them about their own experiences with their local WTC business. WTCA Members in attendance included representatives from WTC Metz-SaarbrĂĽcken, WTC Rennes Bretagne, WTC Brest, WTC Lille, WTC Poitiers Futuroscope and WTC Twente.

On Wednesday morning, February 14, the WTCA Francophone Initiative — comprised of French-speaking WTCA Members worldwide — had a follow-up meeting, including the virtual attendance of representatives from WTC Marseille Provence and WTC Nantes Atlantique, to discuss their upcoming participation at the 2024 WTCA Global Business Forum, hosted by WTC Bengaluru March 3-6 in Bengaluru, India.
