WTC Moscow: 2nd workshop on technical regulation

MOSCOW, RUSSIA - On February 11, WTC Moscow hosted its regular workshop for specialists in technical regulation. The second workshop of a cycle entitled “Most important issues of technical regulation in the Eurasian Economic Union” covered foodstuffs and relevant regulations of the Customs Union (CU TR 021/2011, CU TR 022/2011, CU TR 023/2011, CU TR 024/2011, CU TR 027/2012, CU TR 029/2012).

The workshop was hosted by Iosif Aronov, D. Eng. Sc. and All-Russian Research and Development Institute of Certification (VNIIS) Deputy Director, and Anna Rybakova, Cand. (Biology), VNIIS Head of Department. Roman Gubenko, Head of the WTC Moscow International Cooperation and Trade Facilitation Department, greeted the attendees in a welcome speech.
Representatives of Russian and international companies took part in the workshop. Among them were an American multinational food manufacturing company (cereals and convenience foods) Kellogg Company, Diageo, a UK company that owns the famous trademarks Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Baileys and Guinness, and Brown-Forman Corporation, a US company that owns Jack Daniel’s and Finlandia brands. 

The training was also attended by consulting firms and the Eurasian Economic Commission and Federal Antimonopoly Service representatives.

In addition to training, attendees shared views on issues of their concern, which, as they noted, was very important and useful for all relevant parties. All attendees completed the training with success and were awarded certificates attesting their qualification.

The final workshop on specifics of the application of technical regulations in the consumer goods sector, will be held at the WTC Moscow on April 7.
