WTC Leeuwarden to house 600 refugees

Sep 30, 2015

LEEUWARDEN, NETHERLANDS - Thousands of people have been set adrift by armed conflicts and are fleeing from their unsafe homelands to Europe. We in the Netherlands are welcoming a large group of refugees. The WTC Leeuwarden will be receiving the first refugees from 12 October 2015 onwards.

This cannot be done until the end of the Vrouw expo, which is being held from 9 to 11 October in the Friezenhal. This hall at the back of the WTC Leeuwarden Expo will be used to house the refugees. The refugees will be able to stay there until the beginning of next year's expo season. The hall will have to be vacated before the Caravana expo begins on 21 January.

It was announced on 23 September 2015 that 600 refugees would be offered shelter at a hall of the WTC Leeuwarden Expo. The neighbourhood was informed of this on Wednesday. On Thursday evening there was an information meeting for nearby residents at our location's Meeting and Conference Center.

We are proud that we are able to offer a real contribution to all these people.
