WTC Jaipur seminar on Rajasthan's Export Potential

Jaipur | Rajasthan With active support and partnership from Jaipur National University, WTC Jaipur associated with Jt. DGFT office for a session on exploring and analyzing the export potential of the state of Rajasthan at auditorium, Jaipur National University on August 7th 2018 .

Jt Dgft., Jaipur, Mr. Virendra Singh chairing the session, appraised the participants about major export sectors, their aggregate contribution to Nations GDP, areas where improvements are required to thrust exports and policies of DGFT to boost sectorial exports from the state of Rajasthan. Mr. Virendra Singh also discussed with the participant’s step by step process in obtaining Importer / Exporter code and ease of dealing with the new digital platform of DGFT. “ One should be able to manage the inherent Currency risk , country risk , carriage risk and credit risk in any international transaction, while one must command the marketing expertise, a knowledge about hedging techniques as future, forward, options and swaps is an added advantage. Along with GST registration certificate one must have the status holder certificate and Udyog adhar number,” he said.

Mr. Vikas Gupta, Joint Director, MSME Jaipur shared data about various export sectors as textiles, gems and Jewelry, agriculture produce, marble & granites and presented various schemes and policies for MSME’s to incentivize exports from the state. Mr. Satish Raina, state coordinator, Niryat Bandhu scheme, Jt-DGFT office Jaipur, illustrated through presentation and demo as how new Electronic Data Entry on DGFT platform has saved time and hence resulted in incremental exports.

Mr. Navneet Agarwal, Asst. Director, WTC Jaipur informed the importance of foreign trade certification programs in handling exports and imports transactions and invited participants to visit well equipped WTC Mumbai library, trade, education and research wing and discuss with the experts on various carrier opportunities present in the area.

Mr. Rajesh Mehrotra, Director, Jaipur National University proposed vote of thanks and requested Jt. Dgft & WTC Jaipur office for organizing such informative session in the future during orientation week for aspiring exporters .

The session was well attended by over 100 participants.
