WTC Goa interacts with Young Indians,Goa Chapter

World Trade Centre Goa had and interactive meeting with the Young Indians (Yi), Goa Chapter, on the 12th of October 2018, at Panaji, Goa

In his welcome address, Mr Nikhil Khalap, Chair -Young Indians, Goa,  expressed that India is going through one of its most crucial phases and the need of the hour is to work towards achieving a Trade Surplus through the increase of Exports. He further noted that in our quest for increasing exports, production of goods often suffered a setback due to lack of adequate electricity supply and he hoped that this meeting would offer solutions on how these two major challenges could be overcome.

Mr Cyril Desouza, Assistant Director, World Trade Centre, Goa, in his address, while giving an overview of the World Trade Centre's Association's (WTCA) activities and the role of the respective World Trade Centers, outlined the areas of cooperation that the Young Indians, Goa Chapter and World Trade Centre, Goa could jointly explore to meet the two major challenges. Mr Desouza suggested that they could jointly work on the potential of conducting Courses on Trade Education, holding Seminars on Export related activities to promote and explore new markets, organizing of National and International Trade Missions,Promoting Goan Exporters through Trade Fairs in International Markets and publishing White Papers for boosting Trade Related Activities in different industry segments that could enhance the potential of the State of Goa. He also presented the Export Assistance Revenue Programme (EARP) developed by the World Trade Centre, Greater Phildalephia Area, USA, which is a comprehensive programme that would be of immense value to any company desirous of increasing their Exports to the United States of America. Mr Desouza also appraised the participants of the Country Specific Reports that the World Trade Centre compiles to assist local companies to understand the dynamics of trade unique to each country and align their efforts with the same to harvest rich dividends.
Mr Yogesh Naik, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Green Filed Technology, presented a detailed study on the Solar Power Policy of the Government of Goa and gave comprehensive insights on how the industry could benefit by considering to generate Solar Power as an alternative source of power to help industry to increase their efficiency and be more economically viable.
Mr Rohit Zantye, Co- Chair, Young Indians, Goa during the Vote of Thanks, encouraged all participants to rise to the occasion and implement appropriate strategies to take the Goan Industry to commanding heights of Success.
