WTC Bhubaneswar Team Meets Commissioner Excise

BHUBANESWAR, INDIA - World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar team met Shri. S.G. Dewalwar, IRS, Commissioner of Central Excise, Customs & Service Tax, Bhubaneswar at his office on 25th April 2017. The meeting aimed at discussions pertaining to migration of MSME members of the Centre as well as other associations into the GST framework. 

While chairing the meeting Shri. Dewalwar stated how GST is going to act as a major reform in favour of the country. He termed GST as a new chapter in the economic history of India which would in long run not only strengthen and simplify the taxation process but would also ultimately reduce the income tax burden on the citizens at large. He further explained how the system would develop into a horizontal structure with an online process and revenue generation model for the Government paving way for huge developmental and reforms agenda to be implemented. 

He further requested WTC Bhubaneswar to play a facilitator role in the GST migration process and assured all the required assistance in getting the members of the Centre enrolled under GST. He invited WTC to take up the required communication with its members and member bodies to visit the GST migration camp to be operational in his office premises since 27th April 2017.
Having noted certain issues of the members as shared by the World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar team he promised to look into the specific issues of the MSMEs in enrolment as well with post enrolment process. While taking the opportunity to thank Shri. Dewalwar for his initiative, the team ascertained to provide all the necessary cooperation and assistance needed in facilitation of GST for the MSME sector in Odisha.
