WTC Bhubaneswar organizes art competition for WED

BHUBANESWAR, INDIA - WTC Bhubaneswar organizes an art competition for World Environment Day

WTC Bhubaneswar in association with Art ya Craft organized REFLECT (an art competition) on United Nations Environment Program’s (UNEP) theme Go Wild for Life - “ZERO TOLERANCE FOR THE ILLEGAL WILDLIFE TRADE” towards observing the upcoming World Environment Day 2016 here at IDCO TOWERS on Tuesday, 31st May 2016. 

The competition attracted participation of artists practicing various art forms. Mr. Tarakant Parida, a renowned artist and winner of State Lalit Kala Akademi award and pioneer of Odisha Modern Art Gallery in the State and Mr. Biswajit Mohanty, Secretary, The Wildlife Society of Odisha, winner of the Sanctuary-ABN AMRO Wildlife Service Award in 2001 and one of Odisha’s most persistent wildlife champions were present at the occasion to judge the competition. 

While both the judges lauded the initiative taken by WTC they also praised and encouraged the participating artisans for their interest in the field of art. The 1st prize was won by Ms. Smurtirekha Singh, while Mr. Dibyush Jena and Ms. Nupur Verma received the second and third prize respectively.

Ms. Nimeshika Natarajan, Manager, World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar took the opportunity to thank all the artisans and esteemed judges for their valuable time and participation. She also added that WTC Bhubaneswar feels highly encouraged and looks forward to organize more editions of the competition at a larger scale in the coming years.
