Welcome & Training for Chinese-speaking Members

WTCA hosted its 2024 Welcome and Training Session for its Chinese-speaking Members on May 16. The hybrid meeting gathered more than 30 delegates representing 20 World Trade Center businesses in the region, including 20 in-person attendees. 

The WTCA Asia Pacific Regional Office (APRO) team updated attendees of the WTCA’s member service tools, platforms, as well as the new brand assets to familiarize WTCA members with the Association’s initiatives. 

Mr. Scott Wang, WTCA Vice President, Asia Pacific, provided an overview of the WTCA network in the region, and made an analysis of the light-asset development model – an approach to leverage third-party property and enable it with the WTCA ecosystem to address the overcapacity issue of the Chinese commercial real estate market. WTC Shenyang, WTC Chongqing, and China WTC (Beijing)’s Property and Hotel Management Company Limited shared their innovative practices in brand promotion and market access, membership system and industrial investment promotion, and whole life cycle management services for commercial real estate development and operation.

WTC Haikou reported the preparation of the 2024 WTCA Asia Pacific Regional Meeting (APRM) and advocated Members in the region “to work together for a successful APRM and for win-win cooperation,” aiming to facilitate pragmatic Member-to-Member collaboration to share best practices, discuss future plans, and network with one another. Themed “Connect Globally, Prosper Free Trade Zone (FTZ),” the 2024 APRM will be hosted by WTC Haikou and WTC Sanya on August 25-27 in Haikou, China Mainland. WTC Haikou is located in South China’s Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP), an emerging business destination to access the China market. The session’s participating Members included representation from China WTC (Beijing), WTC Chongqing, WTC Dandong, WTC Haikou, WTC Hangzhou, WTC Hunchun, WTC Jinzhong, WTC Nanning, WTC Qingdao, WTC Quanzhou, WTC Sanya, WTC Shanghai, WTC Shenyang, WTC Shenzhen, WTC Singapore, WTC Suzhou, WTC Taipei, WTC Tianjin, WTC Xi’an and WTC Zhengzhou.
