Utahns Raise $1MM+ for Afghan Refugees

Jan 03, 2022

World Trade Center Utah is wrapped 2021 with a final bit of good news to share: the Afghan Community Fund has raised over $1.1 million to address resource gaps in community, housing and basic needs for Afghan refugees who are resettling in the state.

This is a great achievement that will go a long way to support individuals and families. Utah has opened its doors to more than 550 Afghans (with another 300 expected) following the Taliban’s takeover of Kabul in August. The Afghan Community Fund is led by Gov. Cox, along with internationally-focused organizations throughout the state, including WTC Utah.
