The 70th anniversary of the Victory at WTC Moscow

MOSCOW, RUSSIA - May 7. On the eve of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War the World Trade Center Moscow organized a gala evening for the veterans who work in the WTC. This year the veterans were also honored by young fellow workers of the Company.

The veterans and guests of the evening were welcomed by Deputy Director General Vladimir Pasik as well as by representatives of the Trade Union and Veterans Council of the WTC.

“It is great indeed that every year we meet together and have an opportunity to see our near and dear ones. Today’s meeting is momentous; it is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. I am very happy that today I am the one to congratulate you on the May 9 and wish, first of all, health, peace and prosperity to you and your families on behalf of the Management Board and of the Board of Directors. To my colleagues I wish to look up to our veterans who know how to love, live and defend our Motherland”, – said Vladimir Pasik in his congratulatory speech.

Chairman of the JSC “WTC” Veterans Council Alexey Peteropavlovsky raised a toast to Russia and the Victory: “Russia has always been, is and will remain invincible!”; “And now we have someone to rely on, someone to lean on. Today, I would like to thank our youth who works for the WTC on behalf of the veterans. You should remember the years of the War, all hardships, yet at the same time you must build your lives now in a way that people could live at ease while ensuring our country’s strength”, – he stressed.

Numerous toasts with wishes of good health and good spirits, poems, front songs performed by folk artists were repeatedly addressed to the guests. Separate congratulations were dedicated to the couple celebrating the 60th anniversary of their wedding in May this year.

By tradition on the previous day, representatives of the World Trade Center Moscow together with the delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia solemnly laid a wreath and flowers at the Unknown Soldier’s Grave in the Alexander Garden and the monument to Marshal Zhukov.

In addition, as part of celebrations dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory an exhibition “Posters of War. Towards the Great Victory” was opened in WTC.
