Savannahian Inducted in Irish America Hall of Fame

Nov 20, 2019

Savannah, Ga. native Francis (Frank) P. Rossiter Jr. has been inducted into the Irish America Hall of Fame in New Ross, County Wexford, Ireland. Rossiter is one of only 59 people to be so inducted since its founding in 2010. The Hall of Fame recognizes individuals in the Irish American community who have made an impact on the Irish in America and who have bridged the gap between the U.S. and Ireland.

"It's only been in recent years that we've re-established such a strong connection between Savannah and Wexford. We thought it would be really fitting and a great tribute if we were able to induct someone from Savannah who has made a significant contribution to celebrating and commemorating his Irish heritage while playing a significant role in improving the lives of so many people in Savannah," said Sean Connick, chief executive of the John F. Kennedy Trust, which oversees the history center.
