Nomination Process for 2015 WTCA Board Election

Oct 02, 2014

NEW YORK, NY, USA - WTCA will officially launch the candidate nomination process for the 2015 Board election at the upcoming Member Seminar (October 19-22) in New York. The Nomination & Compensation Committee’s Chair Charlotte Gallogly will kick-off the nomination process with a get-out-the-vote presentation on the opening day of the Member Seminar.

The “Call For Nominations Form” will be distributed to attendees at the Member Seminar, as well as distributed via email to all WTCA Members. Qualified individuals who submit the Form may be considered as possible candidates for the WTCA’s biennial board election, which will be held in conjunction with the April 2015 General Assembly in Manila.

Each WTCA Member should have already received the 2015 Board election notice distributed in July by the N&C Committee. This informative notice describes the basic criteria candidates must meet to run for, and serve on, the WTCA Board.

The election is only six months away, and the time to prepare for the April 2015 election is now.

If you are interested in being a candidate but your World Trade Center is not yet certified, we have great news for you. The Board has just approved a new “basic certification” program that will allow your World Trade Center to apply for basic certification through a “self-certification” process. This streamlined process, which will be explained at the Member Seminar, will make it possible for WTCs that meet the basic certification requirements to be eligible to nominate candidates in time for the 2015 election. So don’t delay.

The WTCA depends on an active and diverse Board of Directors to represent the interests of our global network of Members and to help shape the future of the Association. As many as 13 Board seats may be filled in the 2015 election – with one or more open seats in each region. Our goal is to have as many talented and enthusiastic candidates as possible on the ballot.

Remember, your participation is critical to the success of our organization. WTCA is best served when its Board represents the diversity of WTCA’s global Members – the men and women on six continents who operate World Trade Centers to promote prosperity through international trade.
