Feb 26, 2015

LAS VEGAS, NV, USA - A delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya, including Ambassador Robinson Njeru Githae, First Secretary of Economics Agnes C. Kirui and Counsellor Jane Miano Mugweh met with members of the World Trade Center Las Vegas and toured the campus.

The dignitaries were among 3,000 Kenyans who traveled to Las Vegas to attend the USA Sevens International Rugby Tournament and other activities associated with the games. Like Las Vegas, Kenya is a popular tourist destination and the Ambassador was eager to learn more about how the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) brands and markets the destination as both the “Entertainment and Convention Capital of the World.”

Chris Meyer, vice president of global business sales for the LVCVA, outlined the mission of the organization and the various ways Las Vegas communicates the brand message. The LVCVA has a vast global reach through its dozen offices located throughout the world and is committed to increasing international visitation from its current 20-percent to 30-percent in the coming years.

The Ambassador and his team were also able to tour a portion of the 3.2 million square foot Las Vegas Convention Center which is also the World Trade Center Las Vegas site.
