International Trade Representatives in Savannah

Mar 20, 2015

SAVANNAH, GA, USA – On March 5, 2015, World Trade Center Savannah, in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), hosted international trade representatives for the State of Georgia.

Georgia’s international trade representatives work with Georgia small and medium-sized businesses to expand globally and with international companies looking to establish a business or manufacturing operation in Georgia. The representatives assist by providing key, in-country contacts, creating market reports and strategies on market entry, as well arranging business appointments for overseas trips. The State of Georgia has 11 markets internationally that house a staff of well-qualified business professionals. The countries and regions represented during the visit to Savannah were Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Europe, the United Kingdom, Israel and Mexico.

During the visit, companies in the Savannah region had the opportunity to sit down for one-on-one meetings with two country representatives of their choice and learn of ways in which they could work together to grow their business internationally.

Following a full day of one-on-one meetings, WTC Savannah partners and staff hosted the international representatives and GDEcD staff for a Low Country boil at the Savannah Yacht Club and a ghost tour through historic downtown Savannah. Prior to their trip to Savannah, the group of representatives had meetings with companies in Atlanta, Ga.
