Highlights of 2017 WTCA Chinese-Speaking Regional

JINZHONG, CHINA - Organized by the WTCA, the 2017 WTCA Chinese-Speaking Regional Meeting & Training was hosted by WTC Jinzhong in Shanxi Province of China from July 26 - 28, 2017. 

The event was attended by more than 60 representatives from 25 WTCs. Mr. Scott Ferguson, CEO of WTCA, joined the meeting and delivered a WTCA progress report. In addition, the meeting featured a regional update by Mr. Scott Wang, VP Asia Pacific of WTCA, and an InfoShare Online training by Ms. Adele Zhang, Program Manager of WTCA Beijing Rep.office.

The WTC best practice session was highlighted by innovative service offerings in trade services, facility management, SME global marketing, trade show program and co-working office solution by representatives from WTC Beijing, WTC Suzhou, WTC Taipei, WTC Shanghai and China WTC. 

Mr. Li Mingtao, Dean of China E-Commerce Research Institute and a top expert in China’s e-commerce industry, offered an overview on the development of cross-border e-commerce and its impact on B2B business and trading. Mr. Patrick Wang from the Beijing arm of WTCA’s service subsidiary shared an update of the WTC Business Club solution which aims at enabling WTCs to deliver services to business community.

The second day program was highlighted by WTCA China Forum with the theme of Development of Shanxi under the Prospective of Belt & Road participated by more than 300 representatives from local government and business community. Served as a branding platform for WTCA and WTC Jinzhong, the Forum discussed the opportunities and challenges facing Shanxi companies under globalization setting, and potential assistances the WTCA global network could provide through its node in Jinzhong. The program was well covered by local media.
