Jan 25, 2016

LAS VEGAS, NV, USA - On January 8, 2016, at the World Trade Center Las Vegas, Steve Case, co-founder of AOL, in a one-on-one breakfast session with Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)â„¢ (licensee of the World Trade Center Las Vegas) enlightened the audience of more than 100 U.S. and international executives with his prediction for what the next iteration of the Internet will look like. The session took place during CES® 2016, the world’s gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology.

At the annual World Trade Center Las Vegas breakfast, which is focused on innovation and entrepreneurship, Mr. Case explained that the first wave of the Internet (building it out) required collaboration between companies and government. The second wave, which consists of building on the Internet with applications, is driven by people and products.

Mr. Case said the third wave will be defined by integrating the Internet in all aspects of life. Its implementation will be similar to the first wave, in that it will require partnerships between industry and government to be successful.

The interaction between Mr. Case and Mr. Shapiro covered a wide range of fascinating topics. In addition, the audience was invited to ask questions during the second half of the event, though there were more questions than time allowed.
