*Mayor Rex Richardson Announces Initiative at World Trade Week Breakfast*

Long Beach, CA - On May 1st, 2024, Mayor Rex Richardson announced the relaunch of the World Trade Center Long Beach during his remarks at the World Trade Week Breakfast in Long Beach. This  initiative marks a significant milestone for the city and sets a course for enhanced economic prosperity  and global engagement.

The World Trade Center Long Beach represents a collaborative effort between the City of Long Beach, the Port of Long Beach, Long Beach Airport, Long Beach Economic Partnership, and other esteemed  local and global strategic partners. Together, these organizations are dedicated to convening the  private sector, government representatives, academia, and philanthropy to facilitate connections,  communication, advice, and support for local and foreign partners and executives seeking to do  business with and in Long Beach.

Emphasizing innovation, sustainability, investment, trade, and goods movement, the World Trade  Center Long Beach aims to foster international relations, collaboration, and commerce. By leveraging  the collective expertise and resources of its partners while supporting Long Beach’s key sectors, the  initiative will promote the city's assets, foster global connectivity, support economic growth, and  position itself as a hub for global trade and investment.

Mayor Rex Richardson expressed confidence in the World Trade Center Long Beach, stating, “The World Trade Center Long Beach is poised to be one of the strongest and most articulate Trade and  Investment promotion agencies and to serve as a beacon for economic prosperity in the region,  driving growth and opportunity for our community.”

Long Beach, renowned for its vibrant culture, strategic location and diverse economic landscape, is certain to capitalize on its strengths in trade, goods movement, innovation, sustainability and much  more.
