China Business Outlook Presented by WTCSD and HSBC Bank

10th Annual event features experts on Chinese economy, business strategies and investments.

SAN DIEGO, CALIF. — JANUARY 27, 2014 — The World Trade Center San Diego, along with HSBC Bank USA will sponsor a China symposium on Thursday, February 6 from 3:30 to 8:45 p.m. at the University of California San Diego Faculty Club located at 9500 Gilman Drive #0121, San Diego, CA 92093.

The China Business Outlook will feature interactive panels with local international business representatives, industry experts, members of the International Trade Administration and the U.S. Department of Commerce. The focus for the panels will be China Business Strategies and Understanding Investment Trends in the U.S. and China.

Speakers will include Ron Roberts, County Supervisor, District #4; Barry Naughton, UCSD Professor of Chinese Economy, International Relations and Pacific Studies; and Amy Kreps and Travis Mosier from the International Trade Administration, Office of China and Mongolia. John Drew, HSBC Global Markets will speak on Investment Patterns in China.

Richard Cant, Regional Director of the Shanghai Office of Dezan Shira & Associates will provide the keynote address. Based in Shanghai, Cant guides foreign individuals and companies through the process of establishing, maintaining and expanding their businesses in China.

Panel members include international representatives and specialists from regional companies, including: Jim Mayfield, U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration; Tim Martin, Aerospace Consultant; Stephanie Barry, International Sales Director for WD-40; Dave Roberts from OSIsoftlabs; Jack Bell of Pantek Partners; David Jiang from BIOCOM; a representative from the City of Shenzhen and Tim Kelly with the Imperial Valley EDC.

The evening will conclude with a special reception and performance in celebration of Chinese New Year. It will include a hosted bar, hors d’oeuvres and networking. An opportunity drawing will be held for a round-trip flight to Hong Kong, courtesy of Cathay Pacific Airline.
