On February 22, Ms. Aliza Totayo, the Chief Commercial Consul of the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou visited CCPIT Xiamen / WTC Xiamen. Chairwoman Ms. Biru Ke and Vice Chair Mr. Zhiping Yan of CCPIT Xiamen / WTC Xiamen attended the meeting.
Ms. Ke extended welcome to Ms. Totayo and her delegation, briefly introduced the economic and trade development between Xiamen and the United States, and stressed that Xiamen and the United States are highly complementary industries, huge space for cooperation and broad prospects for cooperation. It is hoped that the two sides will deepen exchanges and strengthen cooperation in scientific and technological innovation, medical care, education, tourism, exhibition and cross-border e-commerce. Ms. Ke also invited Ms. Totayo to participate in the CIFIT, the World Business Leaders Roundtable and the China International Cross-border E-Commerce Expo, and hoped to cooperate with the U.S. Consulate to hold relevant matchmaking and promotional events, so as to provide a platform for practical cooperation between Chinese and American enterprises.
Ms. Totayo gave a brief introduction to the Commercial Affairs Office of the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou and its planned activities, including financial investment, travel and study abroad, medical and health care, carbon reduction and environmental protection, and e-commerce and retail. Consul Totayo said that there are rich business opportunities in China-U.S. economic and trade cooperation. She looks forward to deepening exchanges and cooperation with Xiamen and is willing to provide support and assistance to Chinese enterprises in their economic and trade cooperation with the United States. She also hopes that the two sides can strengthen contact and interaction, increase mutual understanding, and jointly push for more results in bilateral practical cooperation.
The two sides also had in-depth discussions on practical cooperation in scientific and technological innovation, tourism and exhibition, medical education, and cross-border e-commerce.
