To further promote enterprises in Xiamen and neighboring cities to go global, CCPIT Xiamen organised Business Opportunities in Emerging Markets (Africa & Latin America) on November 27th.Leaders of national chambers of commerce from 18 countries including Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Lesotho, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Peru promoted their business environments and had matchmaking with local enterprises. Ambassador of Cote d’Ivoire to China also attended and spoke on the event. Xin Lekun, Associate Counselor of CCPIT Xiamen presided over the meeting. About 250 people from 150 enterprises took part in.
William Su, Chairman of CCPIT Xiamen delivered opening speech, saying that the total import and export between Xiamen and African countries reached 3.2 billion USD last year, and Xiamen companies invested nearly 100million USD in Africa. Xiamen also strengthened its economic ties with Latin American countries. Ever since 2013, CCPIT Xiamen has been continuously working to promote the bilateral trade and investment between Xiamen and Africa, held Go Africa Forum for three consecutive years. Currently, CCPIT Xiamen and COIC Xiamen are working on a overseas commodity center, which a Africa Pavilion will be set by then. Hopefully, more quality goods from Africa could become a part of people’s life here. Taking the advantage of COIC Xiamen Overseas Liaison Offices (17 and counting), and the CCPIT & WTCA network, CCPIT Xiamen will continue to provide recourses and establish platform for local enterprises to go abroad.
Representatives from Côte d'Ivoire first introduced Côte d'Ivoire and its general business environment, its advantageous projects and the Public-Private Partnerships. Then Wekesa Martin Wafula Waliaula Regional Chief Executive of Kenya Chamber of Commerce and Bustos Mendoza Cesar Rogelio, Regional President of the Mexican Commerce of Commerce in China introduced the business environment, key projects and favorable policies in Kenya and Mexico respectively.
After the promotion, local enterprises had a fruitful matchmaking talk with representatives from 18 countries. In the afternoon, representatives had a site visit to Gulong Source Culture Park and Topstar Light and Shadow Experience Space.
