THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS - The completely renovated World Trade Center The Hague was at the centre of attention when it was officially reopened on Thursday June 16 by Karsten Klein, The Hague’s alderman for Economic Affairs, Harbours, Welfare and Health. And the opening of its new main entrance and lobby was reason enough for a surprise performance by Frankie McCoy and a reception. This is how the WTC The Hague presented its renovations and new facilities to its tenants, residents and business contacts. “The renovations have turned the WTC The Hague into a lively ‘hub’ for international business in the Beatrixkwartier and in The Hague. Today’s reopening symbolises its growth and development in this area,” said alderman Karsten Klein. The renovated WTC The Hague gives The Hague a multi-facetted business hotspot which revolves around meeting each other, work, leisure and connections.

“Since opening its doors in 2012, WTC The Hague has always been on the map. It has always had extensive knowledge of the market, excellent facilities and has been able to anticipate and meet the needs of its clients.” With these words, Klein praised the World Trade Center. “This dramatic metamorphosis was needed in order to grow even more and to continue to make a significant contribution to The Hague’s economy in the years to come. The Municipality of The Hague is investing in this WTC because it symbolises collaboration and business in the city. Its diversity of tenants and prestigious events make WTC The Hague a driving force for national and international entrepreneurs. It is the place to meet, work and connect.”

RENOVATIONS

The most noticeable change is the new main entrance, which has been moved to the Prinses Beatrixlaan. The main entrance opens onto a striking lobby which houses a 21 metre long escalator, the Shoku Noodle Bar, the trendy bar-brasserie Mondano, Njoy Fitness, an AH To Go and the Coffeecompany. The previous entrance has been turned into a multi-functional conference venue that can accommodate up to 500 people.

HOUSEWARMING

Celebrations for the re-opening will continue throughout June at the WTC The Hague. During the ‘Housewarming Weeks’, tenants, companies in the area, business contacts, visitors and residents of The Hague can get to know the new World Trade Center in the Beatrixkwartier. Apart from the Grand Re-Opening, other activities in June have included a reception for expats, an ambassadors’ lunch and a congress for SMEs in The Hague. Events to be held in the near future include a CEO & Start-up Lunch.
