Oct 30, 2015

THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS - On October 30, WTC The Hague organized for the 3rd time a Regional Meeting for European WTC Members. 11 World Trade Centers participated as well as the WTCA Interim CEO Rolf Draak and the European Regional Development Manager Estelle Leclercq.

The program started in the morning with a visit to the campus of the Hague Security Delta (HSD), the largest cluster of high tech security companies in Europe. The number of participating companies is growing fast. It is expected that in the near future an off shoot of HSD will be opened in the building of WTC The Hague.

The lunch was combined with an intensive speed dating program between the participating WTC Members in the WTC The Hague Sky Lounge on the 25th floor.

The European Meeting itself took place in the Business Center and was chaired by Gerard Vaandrager, Director External Relations of WTC The Hague and WTCA Board Member. Items that were discussed;

  • WTCA affairs such as the proceedings of the CEO search and the trade mark issue with the NY-NJ Port Authority.
  • The launching of the WTCA Working Group on International Trade Development and Investment Services.
  • A financial update of WTCA.
  • The future structure of European Meetings.
  • Activities of the Regional Development Manager.
  • The 2016 General Assembly of WTCA in Algiers.
  • Possible elements of the future WTCA strategic plan (stronger regional offices, the for profit unit in Hong Kong and stimulation of at this moment inactive or under performing license holders).
