Round table on relations between China and Russia

Today, the round table on "Russia-China: Directions for the Development of Bilateral Relations" was held at the World Trade Center during the visit of the delegation of the Organizational Department of the Provincial Party Committee of the Province of Hubei ( the People's Republic of China) headed by Mr. Wang Shizhun, Vice Mayor of the People's Government of Xiaogan City.

The event was organized by WTC Moscow with the support of the Russian Academy of Science and Technology under the President of the Russian Federation. The issues of development of cooperation between Russian and Chinese business circles became the main topic of the discussion.
The moderator of the round table was the adviser to the Director General of the World Trade Center Mr. Alexander Rybakov. Opening the meeting, he stressed that "American policy pushes Russia and China to establish full-fledged cooperation in innovative and technological areas, to take advantage of the opportunities that were left in reserve. Moreover, the governments of the two countries intend to only further strengthen interstate relations in all promising areas of cooperation".


The trade turnover between Russia and China is growing every year. Only in the first half of 2018, China came out on top among the countries - Russia's foreign trade partners in exports. Russian exports to China showed an increase of 42.7% and amounted to about 25.9 billion dollars, accounting for 12.2% of Russia's total exports, which is 1.4% higher than in the previous year.

For his part, the head of the delegation of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Wang Shizhong presented an outlook of the economy of Hubei Province. It’s metallurgy, machine building, automobile industry, textile and chemical industries, electric power industry that were named the leading branches of the economy of the region. One of the main areas of trade with Russia is the fuel and energy sector products, in particular the purchase of more environmentally friendly fuel - gas, with a view to gradually withdrawing from coal consumption as the main energy source. This position was made by Mr. Deng Yumin, CEO of the Energy Corporation of the province.

Mr. Yury Morozov, the head of the international and interregional cooperation department of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, took part in the round table. He spoke about the creation of the Council of heads of the chambers of commerce and industry of the business centers of the Euro-Asian space - the single economic space from Lisbon to Vladivostok. He stressed that the Council was created with a view to intensifying cooperation between business circles and consolidating the efforts of the CCIs of various regions and countries aimed at the formation of new interaction mechanisms in the conditions of digitalization of economies. As an electronic platform for the interaction of the Chambers that will join the Council, the "Business Market", developed and launched by the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been presented.

During the discussion, the sides touched upon the actual issues of migration policy. Mrs. Olga Zavayanskaya, Director of the Center for Language Testing and Migration Policy Assistance, MIMOP RF CCI, spoke about the creation of a unique social center for the adaptation and integration of migrants in Russian regions. The key objectives of the Center are to assist the business in regulating the flows of labor migrants and the planned regulation of the processes of attracting foreign labor, as well as monitoring the level of social adaptation of the migrant to the Russian economic space.

Mrs. Olga Zavayanskaya invited Chinese business circles to cooperate actively on the issues of joint implementation of educational services for more successful attainment of the Center's tasks.

Representatives of WTC Moscow have informed the Chinese part about the WTC, Russia's largest multifunctional business complex, whose activities are aimed at facilitating the development and promotion of business interests by providing world-class services such as congress, exhibition, office, hotel services of the highest quality.

Within the framework of the "Business Facilitation" project, a program has been developed for the business community. The goal of the program is to establish direct trade and economic ties, exchange of experience and information on the market conditions. The program includes meetings with business partners and presentations of companies and products, including the online mode, visiting industry exhibitions and manufacturing enterprises, B2B negotiations and other events.
