On Tuesday, September 27th WTC Leeuwarden welcomed a delegation from the province of Gia Lai in Vietnam. The delegation was headed by Mr Rah Lan Chung, deputy secretary of the provincial Party Committee. Gia Lai is with 15.495 km2 almost three times larger than the province of Friesland. Agriculture is very important for this region. Around 1.5 million people live in Gia Lai. Ambassador Viet Anh Pham of the Vietnam Embassy in the Netherlands accompanied the delegation. He mentioned the strong ties he has with Friesland. The delegation members received a Frisian passport for easy entrance. In addition to an important delegation from the province, a number of entrepreneurs are also coming along. They represent a number of large companies listed on the Vietnam Stock Exchange. They are mainly seeking knowledge, with focus needs on water solutions, Agri-technologies, horticulture solutions, food processing, husbandry.

Several Northern companies introduced themselves. Mr Hai Pham of Vietnam International Trade announced a trade mission in cooperation with WTC Leeuwarden for November 26 to December 3 2022.
