LEEUWARDEN, NETHERLANDS - On July 7, 2016 we are visiting the 'Ecokathedraal'. One of the 7 new Dutch Wonders of the World. It is a land art-project near a Frisian village. The other Dutch Wonders of the World are 'Rotterdam Markthal', 'North/South line' and 'Eye' in Amsterdam and parking garage 'Lammermarkt' in Leiden. For these projects the costs range from €35 million to €3,1 billion. Really remarkable is that the 'Ecokathedraal' project costs: €0,-.
In 1965 the building of the first Ecokathedraal in the World started. It is an ungoing building process. A place where people, plants and animals come together. In the area no machines are being used, only manpower.Â
Founder and architect is Mr. Louis Le Roy (1924 - 2012).Â
Our guided tour at the Ecokathedraal will be closed with a BBQ.Â
