Interactive Meeting with WTC Kentucky Delegation

JAIPUR, INDIA - The World Trade Center Jaipur facilitated an interactive meeting with J. Edwin Webb, President and CEO of World Trade Centre, Kentucky; Ali Crain, Executive Director of Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and 15 accompanied members from Kentucky, the Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Confederation of Indian Industry (Jaipur), FICCI (Rajasthan) and Bureau of Investment Promotion (BIP), Rajasthan, on 6th April 2015 at Jaipur.
Dr. Samit Sharma (IAS), Commissioner of BIP chaired the dialogue. In his address, he emphasized the need for partnership and investments, especially for the ‘Resurgent Rajasthan’ partnership summit to be held on November 19 and 20. Sharma explained the packages being offered to investors, especially for big projects which the government is customizing with exemptions in many duties, and will facilitate land acquisition. 

Crain informed that the investors of Kentucky were exploring new investment opportunities across North India and Rajasthan was one of the main states for their county.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and Federation of Hospitality and Tourism, Rajasthan (FHTR).

Commissioner Sharma said the meeting was fruitful and the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) has evinced interest in setting up a World Trade Center in Jaipur also. The delegation was informed why Rajasthan today is a preferred investment destination. He said that WTCA member investors have been invited for investing in the State.

It is to be noted that the WTCA has over 300 WTC members in over 100 countries and nearly 1 million businesses associated, that contribute to world trade.
Khyati Naravane, Assistant Director WTC Mumbai (Trade Promotions) gave the welcome address, while Neeta Kolhatkar, Joint Director, Research and Trade Promotions gave the vote of thanks.
