Industries Minister Launches WTC Jaipur Services

JAIPUR, INDIA - 10 August: The World Trade Centre (WTC) Jaipur Trade Services were today launched by the Rajasthan Minister for Industries, Mr. Gajendra Singh at Hotel Clarks Amer in Jaipur by the click of a button. On the occasion he said that with the commencement of these services the Jaipur and Rajasthan now have a unique access to the gateway of the world by getting connected with as many as 340 WTCs in 90 countries in the world.

The WTC Jaipur, the Minister further said, will play the role of an industrial catalyst by promoting investment in the State. Rajasthan, he pointed out, was giving high priority to industrialization for fueling employment opportunities. He said providing employment to the youth of the State was one of the prime objectives of the Government ever since it had taken over two and half years ago. With 40% of DMIC (Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor) falling in the State will give a major boost to manufacturing and trading. The State has huge investment opportunities in the sectors of Automotive, IT-enabled Services, solar power generation, ESDM and tourism. The RIPS 2014 along with the effective 'Single Window Clearance System' has made Rajasthan the preferred industrial destination in the country. And now with the coming of WTC Jaipur, it is a win-win situation for both the organization as well as the State. 

Earlier, Capt. Somesh Batra, Vice Chairman of WTC Mumbai outlined the services WTC Jaipur will offer like export counseling, organizing seminars, promoting inbound trade delegations, organizing networking events, etc. 

Director Project, WTC Mumbai, Ms. Rupa Naik made a presentation on WTC Jaipur and said that it will prove to be a great platform for exporters, importers, consultancies, trade houses, among others. 

Earlier, the study entitled 'Export Potential of Rajasthan' was released by the Industries Minister. The study has been prepared by the M. Visvesvaraya Industrial Research and Development Centre (MVIRDC) along with MART. Mr. Pankaj Mishra of MART made a presentation on the Study and said 10 sectors had been identified in the State for high export potential. These sectors are : Agro & Food Products, Electrical, electronics & computer software, Plastics & linoleums, Drugs & pharmaceuticals, Leather & leather products, Dimensional stones, Marbles, Granites & articles of stones, Chemical & allied, Engineering, Readymade garments and Gem & Jewelry.
