WTC PINGTAN IS CURRENTLY UNDER DEVELOPMENT

Pingtan is a comprehensive experimental zone under the jurisdiction of Fujian Province. It locates in the east of Fujian Province, opposite to Taiwan. Pingtan is the largest island of Fujian Province, the fifth-largest in China and it is also a famous fishing base. Local government administration is located in Tancheng town.
In 2015, the registered population was 400,000; the GDP was 19.1 billion yuan (US$2.8 billion); per capita disposable income of urban residents was 30,728 yuan (US$4,519); per capita net income of farmers was 12,648 yuan (US$1,860); total tourism income was 655 million yuan (US$96 million) with over 2.3 million domestic and foreign tourists.
