World Trade Center Kochi Inaugurated

KOCHI, INDIA - World Trade Center (WTC) Kochi at Infopark Campus, Kakkanad was inaugurated on 25th of November 2016 by Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala in the presence of Mr. Ghazi Abu Nahl, Chairman World Trade Centers Association, New York, Mr. Sivasankar IAS, Secretary, Government of Kerala, Mr. M R Jaishankar, CMD, Brigade Enterprises Limited , Mr. Balaram Menon, President, World Trade Center Kochi, Ms.Nirupa Shankar, Director-Brigade Group and other dignitaries.

World Trade Center Kochi, a licensed member of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA), New York will showcase the strengths of the region and state in different economic sectors such as Industry, Tourism, Agriculture, Fisheries, Bio Technology, healthcare and others. It will complement the region to expand their businesses globally and contribute to its robust growth with the help of the strong WTC network. The iconic building measuring 7.5lakh sq.ft is spread across two towers, each of 10 stories.

Mr. Menon, President WTC Kochi, welcomed the Dignitaries and Guests to the programme and said, “WTC Kochi will promote the economic region as a global destination for international business and investment by complementing the efforts of the local chambers and associations and help them to traverse the global stage." He also stated, "It will generate employment for more than 7000 persons”.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. M R Jaishankar, CMD, Brigade Enterprises Limited said, “The WTC Kochi is poised to change the socio-economic scenario of the city and put Kochi prominently on the world map. It promises to change the way office spaces are viewed in the city by providing an international environment to global and Indian IT/ITes companies giving their businesses a real boost.”

Mr.Ghazi Abu Nahl, Chairman of WTCA, was the Guest of Honour and he appreciated the infrastructural facilities at WTC Kochi.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr.Pinarayi Vijayan, inaugurated WTC Kochi by lighting the ceremonial lamp. In his inaugural address he spoke of the favourable industrial climate in Kerala and also touched upon the various industries and sectors active in the State. He also suggested WTC Kochi to carry out activities for the welfare of its surrounding community and also to focus on enhancing the skills of the workforce in Kerala. He also wished WTC Kochi the best years ahead and also congratulated the Brigade Group for their achievement.

Ms.Nirupa Shankar , Director- Brigade Group proposed the ‘Vote of Thanks’.
