Scott Ferguson addresses United Nations IYLA event

NEW YORK, NY, USA - Over 1,500 young leaders from 117 countries gathered at the United Nations General Assembly on August 16 to explore innovative approaches to 21st-century leadership challenges at the 2016 International Young Leaders Assembly (IYLA) Global Summit. WTCA CEO Scott Ferguson was honored to join the High Level Plenary Session alongside nine esteemed dignitaries. 

Scott lead the crowd through his personal and professional journey, discussing how he has overcome obstacles and harnessed his passions to drive success. He emphasized the importance of perseverance, focus, accountability and transparency, and reminded the young leaders in the audience to turn their challenges into their biggest learning opportunities and greatest assets.

Mr. Ferguson was also joined on the panel by a his WTC colleague, John Dickson of WTC Okinawa, who is also the Chairman of the Global Young Leaders Academy. Additional panelists included: Marcelo Scappini, Minister, Permanent Mission of Paraguay to the United Nations; Ahmad Alhendawi, Secretary General's Special Envoy on Youth, United Nations; Frederick Musiiwa Makamure Shava, President, United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSCOC); James P. Flynn, International President, Global Peace Foundation; Iyorwuese Hagher, Foudner and Executive Director, African Leadership Institute USA; Duncan Bureau, Vice President, Air Canada; Hugo Caceres, Executive Director, Inter-American Development Bank; Magali Caceres, International Advisor, Ministry of Youth of Paraguay; Diane Melly, Vice President, IBM; Oulanyah Jacob L'okori, Deputy Speaker, Parliament of Uganda.
