May 26, 2017

Manitoba’s business leaders gathered on May 31st to celebrate the province’s inaugural WORLD TRADE DAY! Two key events were organized throughout the day to commemorate this momentous event.

Community partners such as Johnston Group took part in an afternoon of business-to-business roundtables alongside the WTC Winnipeg team. Constructive and fruitful conversations and opportunities were discussed among participants making the bustling afternoon insightful.

“Today marked an important milestone for Manitoba. I was elated to play an integral part in our first World Trade Day,” said David Angus, Vice-President of Chamber Affairs for Johnston Group. “I take great pride in the WTC Winnipeg and the doors it opens up for our local businesses. I’m enthusiastic to see what this day can bring to our community in future years”. David Angus also serves as Co-Chair on the WTC Winnipeg Board of Directors.

The afternoon was followed by a networking reception as part of the WTC Winnipeg’s Connectors’ Club Meetup. A Club comprised of over 865 members worldwide. The WTC Denver and the WTC Savannah took part in the event by showing their support to the Manitoba business community by means of video. Thus, further demonstrating the collaboration between centres and the strength of the network.

Mariette Mulaire, President & CEO of the WTC Winnipeg adds “We are so happy to be able to introduce this day to our local business community. What an ideal way of bringing awareness to international trade. It was a fantastic turnout! We know that events like these bring our business leaders together and gives them the means to build on existing relationships and create new ones all together.”
