WTC Winnipeg facilitates access to the EU market

Mar 20, 2015

WINNIPEG, MB, CANADA - The European Union wants to do business with Canada, and there are many opportunities for Manitoba entrepreneurs across all sectors.

For the third event in its “What’s in it for EU (you)?” speaker series, the World Trade Centre Winnipeg (WTC Winnipeg) invited Her Excellency Marie-Anne Coninsx, European Union Ambassador to Canada, to speak in Winnipeg.

The single market concept is what makes the EU unique. “It’s a common, barrier-free market that is governed by a set of transparent rules,” said Marie-Anne Coninsx. In the ambassador’s view, this common market facilitates trade.

“The WTC Winnipeg is seeking to maximize trade opportunities between Canada and the European Union in light of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). About a third of the World Trade Centres are located in Europe who can be engaged towards strengthening ties between both countries and creating new and exciting ventures”, explains Mariette Mulaire, President & CEO of the WTC Winnipeg.
