Manitoba Culture a Success in Belgium

Oct 26, 2015

MONS, BELGIUM - Mons, Belgium, the 2015 European Capital of Culture, organized Culturallia, an unprecedented business event on culture and new technologies, from October 14th to 16th.

“Culturallia is organized using the same effective format as Centrallia, corporate ‘speed dating,’ a concept we are very familiar with through Centrallia,” said Virginie De Visscher, Director of International Trade for World Trade Centre Winnipeg (WTC Winnipeg). “So, we didn’t have to think twice about sending a Manitoba delegation.”

Including WTC Winnipeg, there were 13 Manitoba companies that took part in the very first Culturallia in Mons. In total, there were nearly 300 companies from 14 different countries that attended the event.

“There were companies of all different types and sizes,” explained Virginie De Visscher. “Film producers, artist agents, serious game professionals, etc. Together, we made Manitoba’s culture and new technology shine. Now all of the companies that were at Culturallia are familiar with Manitoba. Mission accomplished!”.
