Embassy of Belgium: The Great War in Broad Outline

WASHINGTON, DC - On June 28, 1914 the starting shot of World War I was given in Sarajevo. From Chili up to Samoa soldiers from at least fifty different countries fought each other: on land, at sea and in the air. Everywhere weapons clashed, everywhere soldiers suffered hunger, cold, thirst, and pain.The Great War in Broad Outlines', a travelling exhibition on the Great War created by the Belgian National Institute for Veterans and victims of war for the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and endorsed by the United States WWI Centennial Commission.
