China at the Tipping Point?

Join the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, for a half-day seminar at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC to explore how China is evolving from a sourcing hub to a destination market. Apparel and executives are viewing China as a market, not as an export platform. China's burgeoning middle class, tech savvy population, and fashion-conscious consumers means it is now one of the fastest growing markets for apparel, footwear, and other consumer products. At the same time, rising costs and on-going sourcing diversification trends suggest that the days of China's dominance in sourcing may be nearing an end. What challenges and opportunities are created as China moves past this tipping point? This event will feature the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between AAFA and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import of Textiles and Apparel (CCCT).
