WTC Tianjin Co-Hosted Going Global Forum at PECC

As a major economic and trade exposition in Northern China, the 13th PECC International Trade and Investment Fair has been held from May 12th to 16th in Tianjin Meijiang Exhibition Center co-hosted by Ministry of Commerce, Tianjin Municipal Government and China General Chamber of Commerce. The fair of this year features the theme of ā€œInnovation, Cooperation & Development and Shared Futureā€, highlighting the development philosophy of innovation, coordination, opening-up and sharing. As a platform to attract investment and promote economic cooperation, the fair consists of such 3 major parts as investment talks, trade promotion and exchange of talents with the latest concepts, technology and products of green energy utilization, city planning, agricultural development, daily commodities, art crafts, furniture and house design etc. on display in 3100 standard booths set up in 7 exhibition halls attracting 50 delegations from 30 provinces at home and 20 countries and regions outside China. Around 5000 enterprises participated in the fair and 6256 investment projects were introduced at the event. 


As one of the highlights of PECC, the 7th Forum on Chinese Enterprises Going Global Strategy was held on May 12 co-hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Tianjin Sub-Council (CCPIT Tianjin) and WTC Tianjin with 3 main sub-sessions as Business with Pakistan, Business Opportunities under a New Global Trade Pattern and New opportunities from China--ASEAN FTA. Scott Wang, Vice President, Asia Pacific, WTCA, was invited as a keynote speaker to give a speech on the forum themed as Business Opportunities for Chinese Enterprises in the New Global Landscape. He stressed an important role WTCA plays to connect business communities beyond national boundaries especially against the backdrop of de-globalization when protectionism and isolationism are prevailing in certain parts of the world. Meanwhile CEOs from enterprises in international trade industry, like Free Port Technology, China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation and Meorient Group etc. were also invited to present in the forum to share their innovative business approach to address the challenges facing Chinese enterprises going globally.
