Dec 21, 2015

TAIPEI, TAIWAN - The Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) has announced a comprehensive set of plans aimed at furthering the trade between Taiwan and the world' in 2016. The plans will include efforts to introduce more Taiwanese enterprises to the world's emerging markets and extend their reach to more cities.

One of TWTC's key plans is to assist Taiwanese enterprises in finding business opportunities related to mainland China’s One Belt, One Road (OBOR) initiative. The OBOR covers the key markets of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan, where mainland China has made substantial investments in the major local infrastructure projects. For the OBOR, TWTC will be promoting Taiwanese enterprises in the related industry fields, including electrical engineering, electric power, machinery, information and communication technology, hardware, and building materials. Moreover, TWTC will be leading Taiwanese enterprises to explore new opportunities in the secondary and tertiary cities of Brazil, Mexico, India, Turkey, and mainland China.

To assist the small and medium-sized Taiwanese enterprises in entering the EU market, TWTC will be strengthening its partnership with the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), Europe’s largest information and consultancy platform. The partnership will promote further Taiwan-EU cooperation in several key areas, including business and trade, industrial collaboration, technology transfer, and research and development.

At home, the annual "Sourcing Taiwan" event will once again bring together global buyers and top-rated Taiwanese suppliers from a wide range of industries to meet in person under one roof. To be held in Taipei on March 31, the highlights of the 2016 event will be the green industries, beauty care, and cross-border e-commerce. There will also be an exhibit area showcasing the best quality products of Taiwan.

On the internet, TWTC will be making major updates to its e-commerce portal, Taiwantrade (www.taiwantrade.com.tw). The website will not only get a fresh new design with a whole host of user interface enhancements, but also offer powerful new features to facilitate buyers in purchasing products and services from Taiwan.
