TAITRONICS 2014 Exploring New Technology Frontiers

TAIPEI, TAIWAN - Globally renowned TAITRONICS, organized by World Trade Center Taipei, entered its 40th year and was held October 6th to 9th at Nangang Exhibition Hall. The Taipei International Electronics Show consolidated Taiwan’s electronics supply chain in 9 major exhibition areas, with over 500 exhibitors using 1200 booths, which included some of Taiwan’s biggest names in the electronics industry. The four-day show attracted over 45,000 visitors, including over 4,000 international visitors, a 5 % increase compared to last year.
The theme of this year’s TAITRONICS was “Green Electronics, Smart Living”, reflecting the show’s emphasis on sustainable development and the growing role of electronics in daily life. WTC Taipei specially created 4 major Theme Pavilions and over 40 forums. WTC Taipei also arranged over 300 procurement meetings as part of their services for participating companies. The winners of the 3rd “Technology Innovation Award” with top quality and latest innovation were unveiled at the pre-show press conference. In addition, WTC Taipei made a total upgrade with its exhibition services. International visitor and media badges were embedded with Taipei Metro cards.

Raising international visitor services to an all-new level
First time service! For the very first time in TAITRONICS, WTC Taipei offered international visitors 3-day unlimited FREE metro passes embedded into their upgraded visitor badges. These badges provided unlimited rides on the Taipei Metro from Oct. 6th to 8th. Visitors were able to see unique cultural sights alongside MRT stops such as National Theater and Concert Hall.

Worldwide buyers flew in to make their purchase of the year
55 important buyers from 24 countries, including Indigo Music & Books Inc. from the United States, Motorolsa Solutions Singapore PTE LTD in Singapore, Tercom Telematica S.A. from Brazil, and Turkcell Iletisim A.S. from Turkey, visited the show to make their purchase of the year. In addition, major procurement groups from Switzerland, Chile, Mexico, and China brought unlimited business opportunities during the show.

Procurement meetings offered instant onsite business opportunities
In order to broaden trade show efficacy and assist exhibitors, WTC Taipei hosted over 300 procurement meetings during the show. In addition, over 30 overseas government project buyers were invited to the "Sourcing Taiwan for Government Procurement" meetings to find potential partners.

Theme Areas laid out smart living trends and new product releases
WTC Taipei set up Broadband Services Pavilion, MIT Household Electrical Appliance Pavilion Internet of Things -Innovations and Experience Pavilion and Taiwan Cloud, Big Data & IoT Pavilion to showcase the future of smart living.
Simultaneously, over 30 new products were launching during the trade show in the New Product Launching Area on the show ground.

“The Circular Economy of Electronics” broke ground in sustainable growth
echoing the green electronics theme; WTC Taipei specially invited European Recycling Platform (ERP) Business Development Manager, Andreas Bohnhoff, to talk about the EPEAT certification process. The forum also featured Mr. Juu-En Chang , the former minister of Environmental Protection Administration, Taiwan, and Tzershin Wu, the Product Marketing Manager of Sabic Innovative Plastic Pacific. They analyzed international regulations and environmental standards from both industrial and academic perspective and offered their insights on industrial trends.

“Technology Innovation Award” brought new products into focus
The “Technology Innovation Award” entered its third year with a mission to promote innovation in electronics. A total of 37 companies entered 61 products this year in 4 categories, with many products featuring top breakthrough technologies and international patents. Winners were chosen for their ability to effectively improve performance and stability, enhancing the user’s efficiency and quality of living. At the end of the fierce competition, 22 products received the Quality Award, of which 3 products were awarded gold medals. All winner products were displayed on the 1st floor of Nangang Exhibition Hall during the show.
To embrace the global trend of electronics, TAITRONICS 2015 will be held next year from Oct. 6 to Oct. 9 at Nankang Exhibition Hall, Taipei, Taiwan.
