e-commerce shows generate US$1m in business

Oct. 9, 2015, Taipei -- The 41st Taipei International Electronics Show and the first E-Commerce Expo Asia came to a close on Oct. 9, 2015, generating US$100 million in business. The two shows gathered nearly 600 domestic and international exhibitors who used a total of 1,120 booths. Their showcase included Taiwan’s latest communication hardware and software, e-commerce platforms, and cross-border e-commerce services.

Approximately 45,000 domestic and international buyers and industry members attended the two shows. According to the event organizer, the Taipei World Trade Center, the buyers gave high praise to the shows' rich diversity of vendors and the incredible amount of cross-border business opportunities presented by the exhibitors.

During the four-day show period, over 1,000 sessions of pre-arranged procurement meetings were conducted between 121 international buyers and Taiwanese suppliers. Together, the parties found approximately US$100 million in potential future business.

With the addition of the E-Commerce Expo Asia, the 2015 Taipei International Electronics Show outperformed previous events in terms of both the diversity of content and the number of visitor and exhibitor turnout. The two shows offered the visitors the chance to see Taiwan's strong electronics and e-commerce industries, as well as the latest hardware and software integration innovations that the two sectors offered.
