The Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners has approved a ten-year deal for a full-service restaurant and bar in Seaport Village. Cork and Batter will offer a first-class dining experience in a warm bungalow-themed environment with American fare created with freshly sourced ingredients, craft beer, wine, and hand-crafted cocktails. During game time, Cork and Batter will serve up live sports on multiple flat screens for sports fans’ viewing pleasure.
“This is a home run. If you’re looking for delicious food, a good cold beverage, and a place to cheer on your favorite San Diego sports team, Cork and Batter will have that along with the San Diego Bay views and vibrant, friendly atmosphere we all love at Seaport Village,” said Chairman Dan Malcolm, Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners.
Cork and Batter will be operated by BNG Hospitality Group, a Los Angeles-based restaurant management and marketing company that is currently refreshing and rebranding its entire lineup of 3rd Base locations to Cork and Batter – new name, same great experience.

We are actively expanding this concept into other cities around the country, including nearby Simi Valley, as well as Boston, Miami, and Atlanta. Whether you are joining us to cheer on your favorite team or just looking to enjoy a variety of tasty food and cocktails, Cork and Batter is the destination for locals and tourists alike,” said Drew Gates, BNG’s managing partner.
BNG Hospitality manages and operates a number of restaurants throughout Southern California, including Hollywood's iconic Yamashiro restaurant, and Cork and Batter Inglewood.
At Seaport Village, Cork and Batter will anchor Suite E3 in the Lighthouse District, encompassing approximately 7,989 square feet of indoor restaurant space along with a patio and courtyard area. The Port anticipates Cork and Batter will help draw more visitors to the Lighthouse District and continue to elevate the existing dining and shopping experiences at the shopping center.
Since assuming ownership of Seaport Village in 2018, the Port has worked in close coordination with property manager Protea Property Management, Inc. and broker Retail Insite to transform Seaport Village into a vibrant waterfront destination along the San Diego bayfront for locals and visitors. As a result of these collaborative efforts, Seaport Village features mostly locally owned and operated businesses with a mix of old and new favorites. A buzz-worthy lineup of new tenants includes Louisiana Charlie’s, Tuk Tuk Eatery, Mike Hess Brewing, and Eclectique Boutique. Tenants opening over the next year include Zytoun Gourmet Mediterranean, Malibu Farm, Shorebird, Crack Taco Shop, and Gladstone’s.

Collecting no tax dollars, the Port reinvests the revenues from hundreds of businesses on our dynamic waterfront back into our communities and local economy to provide prosperity and a remarkable way of life for all.
Since 2018, the Port has successfully filled 24 spaces at Seaport Village with a variety of uses including specialty retail, full-service and fast-casual restaurants, walk-up cafés, and a specialty market, among other new and exciting offerings. Currently, the shopping center is approximately 92% occupied and the Port has lease agreements in place with 60 tenants and approximately four vacancies, most of which are concentrated in the Lighthouse District. The current tenant mix is comprised of 41 retail tenants and 19 food and beverage tenants.
Separate from this new lease, the Board has approved investment spending at Seaport Village of approximately $9.1 million to date.Â
