Apr 26, 2017

SAN DIEGO, CA, USA - The Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners invites the public to attend a Board of Port Commissioners Workshop focusing on the draft Port Master Plan Update. The workshop is part of a series of public events that are components of the Port’s ongoing Integrated Planning initiative.

The workshop will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside, located at 1355 North Harbor Drive. It will provide an opportunity for the public, stakeholders and the Board of Port Commissioners to engage in a discussion on proposed draft goals for the Planning Districts, Mobility Element and Economic Development Element of the Port Master Plan.

The Port’s Integrated Planning initiative began in 2013 and spans 6,000 acres of land and water, with the goal of setting a blueprint for baywide planning and development. Building on an extensive public outreach process, the Port Master Plan Update will codify the community’s vision for how future projects will fulfill public goals.

As part of continued outreach in 2017, the Board of Port Commissioners held its first public workshop to discuss the draft Master Plan Update on March 9. The workshop focused on the organizational structure of the Port Master Plan, the proposed consolidated land and water use designations, and the proposed draft goals for the Land and Water Use Element. The Port also held an Open House on March 23, which provided an opportunity for the public to learn about this important initiative, discuss how policies will be captured in the document with the staff team, and provide comments and feedback to inform the process.
