WTC Pune Fosters International Trade and Education

PUNE, INDIA - World Trade Center Pune is a mission partner of the Indian Customs โ€“ Pune Customs โ€“ PCHAA initiative of Clear-in-Pune. Senior government bureaucrats Mr. B. K. Bansal - Member, Customs-Central Board of Excise and Customs and Mr. L. Satya Sriniwas โ€“ Joint Secretary - Customs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India interacted with Mr. Nikhil Oswal and team WTC Pune. Mr. Bhikhoo Ram โ€“ Chief Commissioner of Excise & Customs, Pune alongwith Mr. M V S Choudhary โ€“ Commissioner of Customs, Pune were also present.

Interactive session addressed the Modified Scheme for Authorised Economic Operators in India in line with global norms. Officers resolved various issues relating to Customs procedures and gave update on government initiatives for ease in international trade.

World Trade Center Pune and its knowledge partner International Supply Chain Education Alliance joined hands to promote Demand Driven Week in India. Ms. Carol Ptak, Co-Founder of Demand Driven Institute, USA visited many Pune and Mumbai industries. 

Ms. Ptak trained industry professionals from large corporates like ITC, Tata Motors, SKF, KPMG, Infosys, Avenir, Calderys, Hesol as Demand Planners - Endorsed CDDP Instructors at Pune. The CDDP training covered contemporary concept Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP) developed by Ms. Carol Ptak and Mr. Chad Smith.

At the ISCEA Ptak Prize Awards Nite 2016 organised by ISCEA India at Pune in August 2016, Ms. Ptak gave away the Global Awards for Supply Chain Excellence. The Ptak Prizes for Supply Chain Excellence are awarded to companies - individuals in recognition of significant improvements made through Vision, Business Rules, and Technology.

Ms. Carol Ptak felicitated Mr. Sudhir Gupta, EVP - TATA Autocomp Group of Companies with ISCEA Outstanding Award for Lifetime Supply Chain Accomplishments. Mahle Behr India Pvt. Ltd. won Supply Chain Excellence Corporate Award and Mr. Aman Sinha was honoured as Supply Chain Professional of the Year.

The ISCEA-WTC Pune industry fellowship event witnessed participation from corporate world in New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Hyderabad. Supply Chain thought leaders โ€“ top management teams, global consultancies and management school authorities heard Ms. Carol Ptak on DDMRP.

Recently WTC Pune inked MoU with BRICS Chamber of Commerce & Industries and Reciprocity Agreement with World Trade Center Beijing, China to foster International Trade.

WTC Pune is supporting the 3 day Maritime Nation India 2016 event including a conference and expo on the inherent potential opportunities in Indian maritime industry.
