Shaping a Brighter Future: SelectUSA Day 4 Focuses on Clean Energy and Economic Potential
Day 4 was the final day of the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2023. Just like the previous days, the final day’s sessions included prominent CEOs as well as US Cabinet Secretaries, culminating with an address by the Hon'ble Anthony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America.
The Secretary ofState, delivered an inspiring address that highlighted the pivotal role of the U.S. Government in making America an attractive destination for global investors. He emphasized the importance of investing in infrastructure, an inclusive workforce, and transformative laws to achieve this goal. The Secretary cited examples of successful partnerships and investments, which had a significant impact on job creation, economic growth, and foreign policy. The speech was a call to action, inspiring all present to work towards a brighter future for all concerned.
Earlier, Donald Cravins, Jr., Esq., ( U.S. Department of Commerce Under Secretary of Commerce for Minority Business Development )opened the stage welcoming attendees. The day's primary focus would center on the utilization of clean and renewable energy sources and the potential effects it could generate.
Governor Janet Mills (Governor of Maine) and Governor Gretchen Whitmer (Governor of Michigan) along with moderator Jon Creyts (CEO of RMI) discussed advanced manufacturing and clean energy innovations crucial for reducing energy expenses, reinforcing the power network, and generating well-paying jobs.
Following the theme, David Turk (U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Deputy Secretary) spoke to attendees outlining how the DOE is working to build & secure America's clean energy future.
Industry experts, Ajay Kochhar
(President, CEO - Li-Cycle), Zvi Lando (CEO - SolarEdge) and Megan Myungwon Lee (Chairwoman, CEO - Panasonic Corporation of North America) along with moderator Don Graves (US Deputy Secretary of Commerce) discussed how increasing stakeholder emphasis on sustainability and renewable energy options.
