Focus on the Junior Chamber of Marseilles

MARSEILLE, FRANCE - The Junior Chamber International - JCI is the first movement of young enterprising citizens worldwide. Founded in 1915 by Henry GIESSENBIER Jr, it is composed of over 200,000 members aged from 18 to 40 years old through 5000 local organizations in more than 100 countries.

Men and women volunteers from diverse professional backgrounds are committed to contribute to the development of society and its people, for the development of sustainable projects of an economic, social, community, etc...

It is a laboratory of ideas to explore new and create positive solutions. It is an organization recognized for its catches of initiatives and actions which has a seat at the UN, UNESCO and the Council of Europe.

In France, the Junior Chamber International - JCI is called the Economical Junior Chamber. 140 Junior Chambers Local such as Marseille are affiliated with the Young French Room - JCEF, an association founded in 1952 by Yvon CHOTARD, state-approved by the state by decree since 1976.

More than 650 actions are performed each year in France through all these Junior Chambers Local, mainly on 5 priority themes: economy, employment, solidarity, regional planning and sustainable development.

In Marseilles, it is added to our willingness to be present on international JCI events, global congress and conference areas, in order to highlight the actors and businesses of Marseille and Metropolis.

The Junior Chamber of Marseilles has set up its address at World Trade Center Marseille Provence and they also contribute to the animation of the Cowork’in WTCMP organizing conferences and afterwork.
