May 19, 2014

The 2013 annual ranking of ICCA, (International Congress and Convention Association), published in May, confirm the major position of Lille and the Nord-Pas de Calais Region in the international association meetings market. Lille placed itself at the 59e European rank and gets into the Top 10 on the national scale, being at the 7e place (just before Nantes, Montpellier and Strasbourg). On the worldwide scale, Lille city reaches the 106e position on more than 375. A step forward in a year as Lille was 263e in 2012.
The ICCA ranking is a real barometer of notoriety and quality for the European and Worldwide meetings planners.

This referencing of Lille’s city, rewards the rigorous promotional work, as well as statistics data, follow up and counting, followed by the Nord France Convention Bureau and the Lille’s Convention Bureau for those last past three years.

The 4 main criteria allowing the posting of the events are:
- Events organized by an Association (nonprofit making association, Professional Association, Labor union, federations)
- Events organized in 3 different countries
- Events which gather a minimum of 50 delegates
- Events organized regularly (Annually, Biennial or every 4 years…).
